SKH Medical Mission Team that was recently in Palau.

A medical team of six doctors from the Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Hospital (SKH) were recently in Palau to provide the community with medical assistance. The team included Dr. Su-Chi Mu (pediatrician), Dr. Chen-Lun Chu (orthopedic surgeon), Dr. Chu Yo Lun (orthopedic surgeon), Dr. Chia-Ying Yang (family medicine), Ms. Yu-Wen Kao (nutritionist), and Mr. Yi-Wei Chen (lab technician). The team conducted clinics, community outreaches, surgeries, school health workshops with the local schools, and continuing medical education sessions with

the local medical staff. In addition, Mr. Chen worked with the Belau National Hospital laboratory to improve its capacity for identifying whether a coronavirus sample is an alpha or delta variant. The medical mission was conducted from November 29, 2021 to December 29, 2021.

Shin Kong Hospital is a renowned medical facility in the Republic of China—Taiwan with specialty departments in over 40 medical fields. Since 2007, SKH has partnered with the Belau National Hospital in order to provide much needed medical assistance in Palau. SKH also conducts the Taiwan Medical Program (TMP) which is funded by the Republic of China—Taiwan Government.

The SKH medical missions are made possible through the collaborative partnership between the Shin Kong Wu Ho Su Memorial Hospital and the Republic of Palau Ministry of Health & Human Services (MHHS).
