Ministry of Health has established the cost of testing for COVID-19 at $25 for anyone who wants to get tested.

“We decided to just apply the admin fee and this applies to both rapid testing or PCR testing,” stated Ritter B. Udui, MOH Emergency Operation Center- COVID-19 Response Incidence Commander.

According to Udui, the cost varies from place to place depending on number of factors.  In Guam for example, cost of testing is $125 dollars and around $80 in CNMI.  Ministry of Health decided to charge only the admin fee.

Currently front-liners are being tested for free.  To date 480 have been tested and the results are all negative.

The cost will apply to people who are not front-line workers but need or want to be tested. Discussion is ongoing with HealthCare Fund to have the cost of the test be paid for by individual’s MSA (medical savings fund).
