A Place for Community and Progress

On March 25th, we celebrated the official opening of our Grassroots Campaign Headquarters in Medalaii. This historic building has long been a central meeting point for Palauans from all walks of life, fostering deep connections with families and communities.

The opening ceremony took place under a culturally significant full moon, gathering Tommy E. Remengesau Jr., our grassroots candidate, with family, friends, and supporters. It was a night of shared concerns about Palau’s current challenges and a commitment to finding solutions together.

Blessings and Celebration

Father Rusk Saburo, Vicar of the Catholic Church, blessed the Headquarters, and the Koror Evangelical Church Choir filled the air with beautiful hymns. Members of the Steering Committee welcomed everyone, emphasizing that the campaign is open to all who want to contribute. They encouraged attendees to spread the word and invite families and friends to join the movement.

Addressing Palau’s Needs

Our candidate, Tommy, addressed the pressing issues facing Palauan families: the high cost of living, supporting returning students and citizens, and the recent wave of out-migration. He emphasized the need for a caring government that promotes equal opportunities and shared prosperity for everyone, including the business community. Tommy highlighted the critical need to restore equity, inclusion, and transparency to Palau. This means regular communication and collaboration between the National Government, Rubekul Belau, State governments, and community organizations. His message: “Together, we can make tomorrow better” – and leave no one behind.
