The first doubles match started with partners Eric Basco and Jim San Juan winning the first match of the tournament against Prescott Yuri/Nick Cabugos 8 sets to 4. In a very close second match, Noel Reyes/Joe Asanuma won versus Mlib and Ken, 9 sets to 7. In the 3rd and 4th match play Keith/Jhun won against Carlo/Sancho 8 to 3 and Armstrong /Hiromi won against Nik/Peter 8 to 6. In their 2nd match of the day Keith & Jhun won 8 sets to 3 against Mlib & Ken, while match play between Prescott/Nick versus Sancho/Carlo and Eric/Jim versus Noel/Joe were rained out and will be rescheduled this week.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Jessica Lee from Embassy of Republic of China Taiwan in Palau opened the tournament expressing the importance of sports and physical activities. In attendance for the opening ceremony were the Junior Development Players, Parents and PTF Members. All Doubles and Singles match for Beginners, Intermediate, and Open are played at the Airai Tennis Court.
