United States Congressional Delegation, led by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-Florida), chair of the US House of Representatives Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies, is visiting Palau this week, meeting with Palau leaders and US Department of Defense officials to discuss national security and military development issues.

The delegation includes Congressman Ed Case (D-HI), Randy Feenstra (R-IA), and their congressional staff.

US Rear Admiral Benjamin Nicholson, the Joint Region Marianas commander and INDOPACOM’s senior military for the Republic of Palau, and military escorts from the US Airforce Congressional Budget & Appropriations Liaison Office join the delegation during their short visit in Palau.

Minister Charles Obichang of the Ministry of Infrastructure & Industries will be meeting and accompanying the delegation while in the country, while President Surangel Whipps Jr., Vice President & Minister of Justice Uduch Sengebau-Senior and Minister of State Gustav Aitaro are out of the country.

The US Congressional Delegation is scheduled to meet with Palau congressmen and other officials during their visit.
