February 6, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Marine Etibek, an over 60 year old lady from Meyuns managed to survive for almost a day and half in the rough seas holding on to her small kayak that had overturned, after she went fishing on Friday afternoon.

Search for her commenced when she did not return on Friday until Saturday when she was found near the reef by an Aimeliik fisherman Rubasech Obak.
Shortly after he found her, Marine’s husband Sebastian Ngiratrang on one of the search boats came upon them.
Ms. Marina was found alive but dehydrated and exhausted and was brought to Belau National Hospital.
According to reports, Mrs. Ngiratrang had left from Mantekang area to go fishing late Friday afternoon. Due to heavy rains and rough seas, she was pushed out by the ocean currents. Her boat capsized and she hanged on to it until she was found on Saturday. [/restrict]
