9th Hatohobei gov’t installed; Two top offices held by women

July 11, 2016 (Koror) 9^th Hatohobei State Government took their oaths of office today at the Palau Supreme Court.  Associate Justice Kathleen Salii administered the oaths to Governor, Lieutenant Governor and 9 State legislators.

Perhaps first in Palau’s modern political history, 45% of the 9^th Hatohobei State government elected leadership are women, with top two offices filled by women, governor and lieutenant governor.

Sworn into the Office of Governor is Governor Huana Nestor and for Office of Lieutenant Governor, Jacqueline Victor.

For Legislature at Large were Albino Fernando, Francis Victor, Hercules Emilio, Stalin Stanley, Sheila Judy Pedro, Sabino Zackarias, William Andrew, Sabina Andrew and Stella Patris.  Of the 9 legislators, 6 are men and 3 are women. [/restrict]
