The Palau Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is hosting the PAWS 25th Anniversary Local Palauan Dog Show, “Olechotel a Bilis er a Belau”, on Sunday, November 9th at Mindszenty High School gym, 2:00 pm. By popular demand, all competition categories are now open to all age groups!
The PAWS dog show is a contest where dogs compete in different events in order to win ribbons, cash, and prizes. The show is for regular dogs from our neighborhoods throughout Palau, and is intended to be a fun, educational event to be enjoyed by everyone. Don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy, pure-bred dog. This event is for regular Palauan dogs that live in our community – and if you don’t have a dog, you can join as a spectator! Basic rules for the dogs are they must be friendly to other dogs and on a leash at all times, and must be at least 6 months old. You may only register one dog per person. Every participant in the show will get a free T-shirt, and the top three winners of each category will win cash and other great prizes.
There will be 7 competition categories with no age restrictions: 1) most interesting ears, 2) most interesting tail, 3) best smile, 4) happiest dog /most wagging tail, 5) dog and owner costume contest, 6) dog and owner obstacle race, 7) best trick. The first place winners will compete for Best In Show! There is no charge to enter your dog into the contest; participation is free. So if you are interested in participating in the show, call or message PAWS at 775-PAWS(7297) or register at:

The dog show is a space to celebrate our amazing furry companions, but also to offer education about animal health issues. Your kids will learn about why vaccinations and animal population control are important, and what you can do to help prevent animal-related diseases like intestinal worms, parvo virus and leptospirosis.
People are encouraged to come watch the show, have fun, have a few laughs, and learn how we can all help promote public and environmental health through improved animal health. Call or message PAWS at 775-PAWS(7297). The Dog Show is, in part, supported by the National Coordinating Mechanism for NCDs and by the Palau community, that’s YOU!
