A counselor shared this story I thought you’d find interesting and maybe you can relate. Here goes –
“Sophie sank into the chai across from me, a quiet sigh barely escaping her lips.
The tension in her shoulders spoke volumes before she uttered a single word.
Our space together was a rare sanctuary in her stormy sea of self-doubt and confusion.
“It’s like I’m lost in a forest, endlessly searching for who I’m supposed to be,” Sophie confessed, her voice a mix of despair and longing.
“At work, I play one role; at home, another. With friends, yet another. I don’t even recognize myself anymore.”
My heart ached for Sophie, witnessing the struggle of a beautiful soul caught in the web of confusion, desperately seeking a reflection that felt true.
“I’m constantly shape-shifting, trying to fit molds that never quite align,” she continued as frustration creeped in. “And the worst part? I fear I’ve become a stranger to myself.”
Sophie’s eyes, brimming with tears, met mine. “I’m tired of this chameleon life, of not knowing which version of me is real.”
It broke my heart, but I knew there was hope.
So when Sophie discovered that God created her with specificity and individuality, she was determine to discover just how unique he created her to be.
When she realized that it was her Christian duty to discover, embrace and utilize her divine strengths and gifts…her confidence soared.
My friend, that same transformation is possible for you too!”
In my personal journey to be real was I knew one thing to be true. Formulas do not produce perfect people because God created independent thinking people.
Embrace your flaws and imperfections. By accepting all your flaw makes you real and whole. Like a rose comes the thorns too. Besides perfect people are boring.
Perfectionists don’t trust God.
