The Bureau of Public Safety (BPS) confirmed that a police cadet was suspended over alleged involvement in a reported assault of two men.

BPS Ismael Aguon said that an investigation is being conducted on a reported which according to the blotter report occurred at the early morning of Nov. 18.

“The investigation is ongoing and a cadet has been suspended from the academy in connection with the investigation,” Director Aguon said in a text message.

According to the incident report obtained by Island Times, the police station received a call early hours of Nov. 18 about an alleged fight at Zeus in Malakal.

The report said that when police arrived on the scene there was an injured person on the scene. The victim was identified as Robert Scaria and was said to have sustained lacerations on the top and back of his head.

Director Aguon said the police cadet suspended is being investigated for his involvement in the alleged fight at Zeus that left the victim hurt.

The police report however did not identify the suspects in the Zeus fight as they were reported to have fled the scene before the police arrived. 

Two hours after the Zeus fight, the place received another call report alleging that “Ngarametal Boys who went  to Loop at Meyuns Causeway and threaten to break the window of the cars parked in that area.”

The police report named suspects Ngarametal and Mace Nguraungil as allegedly responsible for the incident.

Aguon confirmed that the cadet suspended was named Mace Nguraungil. 

The Ministry of Justice said the case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID)
