A visitor from the Czech Republic in eastern Europe drowned on November 24, 2016 at the Ngermecheluch dock in Melekeok State.  The visitor is identified as Lidol Nejedly, a 45 year old man who was in Palau with group of friends as tourists.


According to police report, a call came in that a tourist had drowned in Melekeok.  When police arrived, they found that the person has been moved to Ngermecheluch dock house.  They tried to revive him but he was already dead.

He was taken to Belau National Hospital mortuary and his family and government are being notified.  Senator Sandra Pierantozzi who is also the honorary consul for the Czech Republic has notified Czech Republic embassy in the Philippines of the incident.

The deceased is reported to be in a tour group from Europe who are here as part of the China Airline promotional fares for Europe-Taipei-Palau tours. [/restrict]
