HAGATNA (PACIFIC ISLAND TIMES)—-Amid the raging debate over Governor Lou Leon’s Guerrero’s controversial new vaccine policy, Guam has reported a total of 314 new Covid-19 positive cases, with 27 hospital admissions and another coronavirus-related death. 

Guam’s Covid Area Risk score is now 18.2.

The Joint Information Centre (JIC) on Monday reported the death of an 88-year-old man at the Guam Memorial Hospital. The patient who died on Sunday had underlying health conditions and was unvaccinated. He tested positive for Covid-19 on 14 August. He became Guam’s 145th coronavirus-related death.

“We are facing a harsh reality each day, one where our loved ones are at risk,” said the governor said.

“Covid-19 continues to test our community, and we must continue doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our people so we can avoid such tragic loss.”

JIC reported 126 new positive cases out of 1,214 tests performed Monday, and  188 cases out of 2,678 tests done on Sunday.

To date, there have been a total of 9,612 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 145 deaths, 806 cases in active isolation and 8,661 not in active isolation. ….PACNEWS
