The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) arrested on Friday a Palauan man for drug trafficking.
DEA Director Ismael Aguon named the defendant as Aiken Uehara who is facing multiple charges of illegal drug trafficking and illegal possession.
Uehara was charged and bail was set at $50,000 cash, the highest imposed under the amended law which raised bail amount for people charged with drug trafficking charges. He pled not guilty to the charges and paid the cash bail of $50,000 dollars and released.
Over the last several months, officials have conducted an investigation into a suspect who was reportedly dealing with large quantities of narcotics.
Aguon said the NEA has separately nabbed two suspects last week and the other week for drug peddling.
