Palau Track and Field Team celebrated Olympic Day on Friday, July 2nd, 2021 in recognition of the Olympics and Palau’s participation in the Olympics.
“Celebration of the Olympics was supposed to be celebrated in June but due to our busy schedule during Belau Games, we are celebrating it now in July” stated Peoria Koshiba, coach of Palau’s Track and Field Team
Palau Track and Field Association had a productive event where both children and adults participated and enjoyed.
Event consisted of a one mile run and games provided by the US Civic Action Team (CAT) team that provided their equipment for use. Kids enjoyed face painting, balloon popping with darts, javelin, cornhole and of course participating in the one mile run.
Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) sponsored the event and provided shirts with all colors of the Olympic ring as well as reusable cups as giveaways at registration. Members of Peoria Koshiba’s Track and Field Team assisted the event with games and distributing popcorn to everyone.
Event served to provide information about the Olympics as well as afford an enjoyable program to all participants.
