Jan. 18 – President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. welcomed His Excellency Dr. Josef Müllner Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Palau at The Capitol in Ngerulmud expressing desire to increase cooperation and relations between both nations.

Famous for its cultural heritage in music, theatre and art, President Remengesau requested Ambassador Müllner for his support and assistance identifying a musical conductor to aid Palau in developing its musical program, stating, “our program is in the infant stages of development and we would appreciate your assistance and cooperation”.
Furthermore, President Remengesau expressed Palau’s desire to follow Austria’s footsteps in the area of renewable energy, and welcomes Austria’s participation in marine conservation through the Palau National Marine Sanctuary.
Extending best wishes and congratulations on behalf of the Austrian Government, Ambassador Müllner thanked President Remengesau for Palau’s continuous support in the United Nations.
