KOROR, PALAU — Golf is more than a sport; it can be a powerful engine for tourism, education, and industrial growth. Taiwan’s Wu Fong Golf Course, together with partners across the golf industry and a number of leading Taiwanese brands, will unveil a Smart Golf Experience Pavilion at the Taiwan–Palau Trade & Cultural Show, held July 10–12 at Surangel’s Supercenter in Airai, which co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and TAITRA. The pavilion introduces Palau to world-class golf simulators and smart sports technology for the very first time, opening a new chapter for the development of golf in Palau.

Wu Fong Golf Course sees great potential in Palau, whose pristine natural environment and rich tourism resources make it well suited to golf and sports tourism. The company is investing not only in course planning but also in bringing together the resources of Taiwan’s golf industry, beginning with market education in order to build a golf culture and industrial foundation from the ground up. The centerpiece of the showcase is the introduction of Taiwan’s mature golf industry to Palau as a complete package — smart golf simulators, digital technology, course management expertise, and intelligent golf-cart systems — allowing the public to enjoy a high-quality golf experience through technology even without a formal course, while drawing more young people and families to this sport for all ages.

Wu Fong Golf Course Chairman Purple Liao noted that the Smart Golf Experience Pavilion is only the first step, and that the more important goal is to cultivate the local market and local talent. In the years ahead, the company plans to advance golf education, coach certification, course operations and management, and youth talent development, helping Palau build a complete golf industry ecosystem. The pavilion also enjoys the joint support of several Taiwanese enterprises, including Shuter Bebbuza Dreamfactory, Atunas, and Awas Tea, alongside co-exhibitor Golface, while Fuyi Golf is providing the IHA golf clubs it represents for the on-site swing experience. Together, they demonstrate Taiwan’s strengths in sports technology, cultural creativity, outdoor living, and brand integration — and mark a new model of Taiwanese businesses joining forces to expand international cooperation.

By using golf to connect education, tourism, and technology, the initiative is expected to attract more international visitors to Palau and stimulate the hotel, travel, aviation, and related service industries, strengthening Palau’s competitiveness in sports tourism while creating new jobs and economic opportunities.

Chairman Liao emphasized that this collaboration is not merely an exhibition, but represents Taiwan and Palau working hand in hand to establish a new model for golf development across the Austronesian region. Both sides will continue to deepen their partnership, using golf as a bridge that links technology, education, culture, and tourism, jointly advancing sustainable development so that the friendship between Taiwan and Palau continues to grow through sports and industry exchange.
