Looking Ahead
Palau will host the Pacific Mini Games next year. Jason plans to continue training for future events. Roxanne and her weightlifting team have already resumed training to excel at the home games. Mary anticipates increased training for the upcoming competition.
Advice for Future Athletes
Both Roxanne and Mary acknowledged the challenges athletes face, including setbacks, injuries, and potential discouragement. However, they emphasized perseverance and the value of hard work.
“The best part is knowing it can all be yours at the end,” Roxanne said. Mary added, “Talent can only get you so far, but consistency will get you further.”
The Micro Games were a valuable experience for Palauan athletes.
“The opportunity to represent Palau in sport is an experience we all should share,” Jason concluded. “It takes hard work and dedication, but just stay true to your training and the journey itself will be the reward.”
