March 7, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Tomorrow, March 8, 2017 marks the International Women’s Day, a global day to “celebrate social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.”


The theme is “Be Bold for Change”, encouraging bold actions in support of women’s advancement. It is also calling for bold actions by challenging individuals “help forge a better working world – a more inclusive, gender equal world.”

President Remengesau Jr. had declared this 2017 as the Year of the Family, and this year’s events are aimed at ending violence against women and children. [/restrict]
